    Portal begins connecting Voice and Data customers to its own data network.

    Portal secures £140,000 Government grant for growth

    Portal builds Private Data Network. 

    RIPE (Internet Service Provider) registration secured.

    Portal in the first 10 UK SME BT Wholesale customers to adopt WSIPT (a next generation Voice over IP product).

    Portal purchase premises capable of accommodating an extra 30 staff.

    Cisco status upgraded to 'Select Partner' accreditation. This is extremely selective with monitored exams.

    Repaid bank loans. 
    Launched Portal Mobile Service.

    Re-enforced a multi-product strategy by gaining Cisco, Avaya & Panasonic accreditations.

    Liquidity moves from adequate to strong.

    Converted high levels of short term debt to term loans.

    Invested in carrier grade test equipment.

    Began wholesaling data products.

    Awarded Direct debit facilities by the bank.

    Re-branded to Portal Voice and Data Ltd in recognition of the national characteristic of the business and clientele.

    Established a UK wide sub-dealer network.
    1 Founder partner bought out.
    Established laboratory and training facilities for the direct and sub dealer technical and sales teams.

    NEC Main dealer.

    Left the national purchasing group.
    Implemented a structured and pro-active Account Management process.
